When Sullivan William Collins founded Celtic Attitudes, he needed a logo that would give his brand some unique power. The great Kevin McKrell sent him some pictures of the bare knuckle champion, John L. Sullivan, in all his glory. It was a perfect match for Celtic Attitudes. His stance was defiant and strong, yet funny and absurd. John L. Sullivan was the first sports superstar in this country, holding the championship from 1882 to 1892, and Irish as well. In his old-time stance, we saw an opportunity to laugh at ourselves and the fighting reputation of the Irish people. Celtic Attitudes channels this fiery heritage through defiant, self-deprecating and ironic humor in our shirts.
Life is too short, therefore taking ourselves too seriously is not part of our business plan at Celtic Attitudes, and our shirts reflect that philosophy. We are not beholding to any agendas, other than the dispersing of craic one shirt at a time.
